The agreement

About these Rider Terms & acceptance

These Rider Terms form the agreement between you and ChopNow, a product of Megatek Digital Solutions Ltd ("ChopNow", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the ChopNow Rider app and your delivery activity on the platform.

Rider access is available only in the ChopNow Rider app. You apply and sign in there; there is no website access for riders. By applying, signing in, or accepting deliveries, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

02
Verification

Eligibility & verification

To be eligible to ride on ChopNow, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have a verified email address (confirmed with an email OTP) and a valid Nigerian phone number.
  • Select an operating state or area where you will deliver.
  • Accept these Rider Terms.

Approval also requires a mandatory set of documents submitted in the app. You must provide:

  • A valid government-issued ID.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A clear passport photo.
  • Proof of vehicle ownership.
  • Your vehicle plate number.

After you submit these, a ChopNow admin must review and approve your application before you can take deliveries. We may require additional review where needed for safety, fraud prevention, or compliance.

03
Account use

Your rider account

Your rider account is for your personal use only. You are responsible for keeping it accurate and for what happens under it.

  • Do not share, sell, or let another person use your account.
  • Keep your phone number, payout details, profile information, and next-of-kin details accurate. Next-of-kin details are used for safety and emergency contact.
  • All identity, licence, and vehicle records you submit must belong to you.

Once approved, ChopNow issues you a Rider ID card. Carry it and present it when required. Your Rider ID card is invalidated if your rider access ends for any reason.

04
Availability

Availability & order assignment

You choose when you work. When you are available, ChopNow may offer you deliveries, and you can accept or decline them.

  • Keep your availability status honest, and only stay available when you are genuinely ready to take and complete deliveries in your enabled service area.
  • Do not accept a delivery and then repeatedly disappear or delay pickup without good reason.
  • Order visibility and dispatch opportunities may depend on your location setup, availability, and platform rules.
05
Pickup

Pickup verification

Pickup is normally verified by the vendor against your pickup code when you collect the order. If the vendor cannot verify the pickup within a short grace period, you may self-attest that you have collected the order.

A self-attested pickup is recorded as unverified and may be reviewed by ChopNow. You must never misuse pickup codes, self-attest a pickup you did not actually make, or record a pickup that did not happen.

06
Delivery flow

Delivery & completion

Care for the order while it is in your possession and handle it responsibly in transit. You complete a delivery by entering the customer's delivery confirmation code at handoff. This code is the point of completion for the delivery, except when an order is closed as undelivered after the waiting timer.

  • Do not tamper with items, switch orders, or hand an order to the wrong person carelessly.
  • Do not misuse the delivery confirmation code or mark a delivery complete before the order actually reaches the customer.
  • Use the in-app support channels where a delivery issue arises.

When nobody collects an order. If you arrive and cannot reach the recipient, tap "Nobody answered" in the app. This starts a waiting timer of 15 minutes, which ChopNow may extend by up to 10 minutes, and we will try to reach the customer. Stay at the delivery location while the timer runs. If the customer comes out, tap "Customer is here" and complete the delivery with their code as normal. If the timer ends and no one has collected the order, the order is closed as undelivered (for some orders, after a ChopNow review) and your delivery fee is credited as if it were delivered, or paid to your agency if you ride for one. Do not return the food to the restaurant; you may keep it or dispose of it safely. Reporting that nobody answered when you have not arrived or have not tried to reach the customer is misuse and may lead to suspension.

07
Earnings

How you are paid

For each delivery you complete, you are credited a fixed rider fee that ChopNow sets for that pickup-to-drop-off route. ChopNow keeps the remainder of the delivery charge the customer paid as a platform delivery fee, so you do not receive the full delivery fee the customer was charged.

  • Earnings are credited only when a delivery is completed via the customer's delivery confirmation code, or when an order is closed as undelivered after the waiting timer, never at pickup.
  • If an order is reassigned to another rider, a credit already applied may be reversed to reflect the actual delivery record.
  • Do not manipulate delivery statuses to trigger false or early earnings.
08
Payouts

Withdrawals

To withdraw your earnings, add and verify a payout bank account and keep a verified email on file. Each withdrawal request is confirmed with an email OTP.

  • Withdrawals are subject to a configurable minimum amount, a maximum amount, and a daily limit on the number of requests.
  • A withdrawal may be paused or held for review where there are fraud, complaint, or delivery-integrity concerns.
  • A transfer fee applies to each withdrawal and varies by amount; it is deducted before the payout is sent.
  • Approved payouts are sent to your provided account via our payment providers.
09
Safety

Conduct, safety & vehicle standards

  • Treat customers, vendors, and staff respectfully at all times.
  • Harassment, abuse, threats, extortion, impersonation, and intoxicated riding are not allowed.
  • Keep your vehicle roadworthy and ride safely; unsafe driving or handling that puts customers, vendors, or the public at risk may lead to immediate restriction.
  • Do not demand unauthorized cash or use off-platform pressure tactics on customers or vendors.
10
Information use

Customer data & platform tools

Customer addresses, phone numbers, and order details are shared with you only so you can complete the delivery. Use them for that purpose only. Do not retain, copy, share, or misuse customer information, and do not use it for harassment, spam, or off-platform solicitation.

Platform support tools, ID tools, and delivery workflow features must be used only for genuine operational needs. ChopNow processes personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act.

11
Your status

Independent-contractor status

You operate on ChopNow as an independent contractor, not as an employee, agent, or partner of ChopNow or Megatek Digital Solutions Ltd. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship. You decide when and how much you work, and you are responsible for your own vehicle, running costs, and any taxes or contributions arising from your earnings.

12
Enforcement

Suspension, bans & account deletion

ChopNow may investigate rider conduct and may issue warnings, restrict access, hold or freeze withdrawals, suspend the account, or permanently remove rider access where fraud, safety issues, repeated non-performance, or policy violations are identified.

  • Enforcement is applied in the app. A banned or deleted rider is signed out and blocked from further access.
  • A deleted account has a 7-day recovery window during which it can be restored, after which it is permanently removed.
  • If you believe an action was made in error, you can appeal by contacting support.
13
Updates

Changes & effective date

Effective date: 19 September 2026.

We may update these Rider Terms from time to time to support platform operations, and the current version always governs. Where a change is material, we will notify you in-app or by email. If you continue to use your rider account after an update takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

14
Legal

Governing law & disputes

These Rider Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts. Personal data is handled in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, under the oversight of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

Vendors, not ChopNow, prepare the food and are responsible for its quality, safety, and accuracy. ChopNow provides the technology and coordinates delivery. No system is completely secure, and the service is provided on a reasonable-effort basis. To the extent permitted by law, ChopNow is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our responsibility to you is limited to the fees credited for the affected delivery.
